What Could Be Causing All These Holes in My Vinyl Siding?

I've noticed a bunch of small holes in my vinyl siding, mostly concentrated at the corners of the house. It looks like my siding got hit by something like pellets from a BB gun or small shotgun. How could this have happened? I thought I might have just one or two holes, but there are about 20-30! What could be causing this type of damage?

Another possibility to consider is hail damage or even kids playing nearby. Sometimes just throwing things around can lead to this type of damage. If you’ve had any recent storms, that could be a good lead too!

Right! I had my siding peppered with hail after a storm, and it looked similar to what you describe.

If the holes are all the same size, it really sounds like a BB gun or maybe an airsoft gun. I've seen similar damage on neighbors' siding from that type of thing. It could explain the consistent hole size you're seeing.

Yeah, if you look inside the holes, you might find some evidence of pellets. It’s worth checking!

It sounds like you might be dealing with damage from a lawnmower. Those things can kick up rocks and debris that could easily dent your siding. Have you checked around the area where you mow to see if there are stones or anything? That might be your culprit!

Totally! I once sent a rock flying through a window while mowing, it's amazing how far they can go!
