My parents' AO water heater burst recently, and I suggested they check out Bradford White since it's often recommended. However, the plumber they contacted was very insistent on going with Rheem, even though he sold them the faulty AOs before. I've noticed a lot of negative feedback about Rheem in the plumbing community. I'm curious to hear from fellow homeowners about their experiences with Rheem water heaters—are they really that bad?

I've had a Rheem natural gas water heater installed outside for 12 years with zero issues, and I hope it stays that way! I’m in the south, so maybe that helps. Overall, my experience has been pretty positive.
