I'm considering purchasing this DEWALT 20-Volt MAX XR Cordless Brushless 1/4 in. 3-Speed Impact Driver, which I found at a good price after checking out several stores like Home Depot, Lowe's, Granger, and Tractor Supply. I'm curious to know what you all think of this tool and if you have any opinions on the extended warranty options—$12 at Home Depot and $14 at Tractor Supply. Honestly, I would skip the warranty. It mostly feels like giving the seller extra cash for nothing. I've had this impact driver, and it's been working great for me!
I've had a ton of DeWalt tools over the years, both for work and DIY projects, and honestly, I never felt the need to get a warranty. This impact driver is a solid choice, even if it's a couple of generations old. It's perfect for DIY tasks and should serve you well for a long time! Just keep in mind that you might see it on sale with a free battery soon after your purchase—typical, right? ?
If you're considering that extended warranty, check the fine print! Usually, they just add a few months to the store's original warranty, not the manufacturer's warranty which is often much longer. Make sure you know what you're paying for!
I did forget to mention it’s a 2-year extended warranty, just to clarify!

Just a heads-up, battery isn't included with this deal, but if you have spares like I do, you should be fine!
