I'm curious to hear everyone's experiences with the new die grinder compared to the old model. I picked up the new one mainly for the light feature, but I've been having some regrets. It drains batteries quickly, feels awkwardly heavy at the head, and just isn't as comfortable to use as the older model. What are your thoughts?

I had the old one, but it kept cutting out on me, so I returned it. The new model is way stronger, and I have no regrets about switching!
I've been using the M12 for 10 years as my main tool at work. I've got a few rules: always cool and slow charge the batteries, stick with the larger 6/5's, and only use Fuel versions. The M12 is convenient and lightweight, but sometimes feels a bit underpowered. I reserve the compacts for USB or heated gear.
I assume you're talking about the M12 right angle? Personally, I'd pick the new one any day! It actually works without overloading, which is great.
I didn't realize the old one had those issues! The new model can still overload, but that’s mainly if you're not using high-output batteries or if it gets too hot.

True, the new one can still cut out, especially if you don't use a high-output battery or if it overheats.
