What Do You Think About Using Angi for Home Repairs?

I recently had a really surprising experience with Angi while looking for a contractor to fix my flooring. I submitted a request at 3 AM and got a text at 9 AM from someone who could come by in two hours. I was skeptical, but they actually showed up that same day, took the time to find matching panels, and fixed everything by the next morning! I'm curious if this kind of quick response is typical with Angi, or was I just lucky? I've tried to request service again and all I'm getting are timelines of two weeks or more. Now, as a college student, I'm also concerned about the lack of reviews on the contractor I had. Is there typically any kind of record of who comes out or the work done? Because right now, it looks like there's no history in my project overview.

Sounds like you got super lucky this time! Angi can be hit or miss. I mean, some people swear by the service, while others end up with nightmare contractors. It's really all about finding the right one—like you said, building a good network for recommendations helps a ton. Definitely be cautious about who you let into your space, especially if there aren't reviews available. Stay safe out there!

Honestly, I'd be a bit wary. While it's great you had a good experience, others have had horror stories dealing with Angi. The best route is to ask around for trusted recommendations from friends and family. If that’s not an option, using Google Maps to find local handymen and checking their reviews can save you from potential headaches. There’s a wide range of quality out there, so do your homework!

That’s good advice! I always think it’s better to have verified recommendations rather than risking it. Glad yours turned out well, but I’d still be cautious next time!
