Hey everyone! I'm curious about how you all feed your plants. My approach is a bit all over the place—I have some Miracle Grow all-purpose, Envii seaweed extract, and a fish, blood, and bone fertilizer. I usually apply the fish, blood, and bone on my shrubs maybe once in the Spring, but I'm not entirely sure how to effectively mix or schedule these products. What's your feeding schedule like, and what products do you recommend?

For feeding, I go for fish, blood, and bone when I'm mulching, and I like to use liquid seaweed whenever I water my plants. It really helps them thrive! If you're planning on using those, make sure to incorporate them well.

I usually make a homemade plant tea with dandelions, comfrey, and nettle. I just let them steep in water for a few weeks, but fair warning, it can get pretty smelly! I also use chicken manure pellets when I mulch in the spring for extra nutrition.

At the start of the growing season, I apply fish, blood, and bone fertilizer for my trees and shrubs. I mix it into the soil to avoid attracting any critters like foxes. I’ve found Miracle Grow is best for flowering plants like bedding flowers or hanging baskets, while the Envii works too, but it's lower in phosphate, so I avoid using it on stuff I want to keep through winter. For other plants, I typically don’t fertilize too much unless they really look like they need it.
