What Easy Plants Can I Grow in Pots for My Mental Well-Being?

I'm looking to dive into gardening to help with my depression, and I've got two pots along with a gardening kit from Amazon. Could anyone recommend some plants that are simple to grow in a hot climate? I want to see results quickly, so any tips on fast-growing options would be great!

If you're looking to grow food, basil and mint are wonderful! They're hardy and heat-resistant. Plus, with basil, if you keep pinching off the tops, it'll start to grow more bushy like a small tree. Great for cooking too!

Cucumbers are a solid choice! I grew them on a trellis, and they did really well. Also, you might want to consider planting some jalapeño peppers; they thrive in heat and add some spice to your garden. Both really helped lift my spirits during tough times!

Radishes are pretty quick to grow and super hardy. They come up fast, and you'll be pleasantly surprised by their vibrant colors! Plus, the greens are tasty too. You can tuck them in between other plants for a bit of variety.

I totally agree! Seeing those bright pink radishes pop up brings such joy, even if you weren’t a fan before!

If you want flowers, marigolds are excellent! They grow fast and can reseed themselves, so they keep coming back. Plus, a burst of color from marigolds can really brighten your day! I discovered there are tons of heirloom varieties, which makes growing them even more fun!

Absolutely! You can never have too many marigolds. They're not just pretty—they're beneficial for vegetable gardens too!

I'd recommend starting with seasonal plants since they grow quickly and aren’t permanent. That way, you can switch things up with new plants every season, keeping the gardening experience fresh and exciting! Plus, it gives you something to look forward to!
