I'm planning to grow corn in a 50-foot row and I'm wondering about the spacing for my drip tape emitters. Should the spacing of the emitters match the seed spacing exactly, or can it be a little off?

While not mandatory, keeping the emitter spacing close to your seed spacing can really help in maximizing water efficiency. If you use spacing that's too wide, there might be areas that get too dry, which isn't great for corn.
For growing corn, it's best if your drip tape emitters are as close as possible to the plants. Toro offers emitter spacings of 6, 8, and 12 inches, and I personally use the 6-inch spacing with their Heavy (15 mil) tapes. This helps ensure the roots get enough moisture right where they need it.
