Hey everyone! I'm just starting out in woodworking, focusing on crafting pens and bowls, but I'm excited to tackle bigger projects like benches and tables in the future. I currently have a chopsaw, lathe, router, and bandsaw for my larger equipment, plus a drill and a few other basic tools. I'd love to hear your suggestions on tools that beginners often overlook but are actually essential. Thanks in advance for your help!

For sure, invest in a solid table saw with a reliable fence. A drill press is also a game changer for getting those perfectly aligned holes, even if it’s a small one. It's not necessary for every project, but you’ll appreciate having it when you need it!
Having a table saw and planer is a must for me—I use them on almost every project. I’m holding off on a jointer because I don’t want to settle for a cheaper model. Also, having a few different sized squares has improved my accuracy. And seriously, learn how to sharpen your tools! It took me way too long to realize I was doing it wrong.
The table saw is considered the heart of the workshop! Go for the biggest and best one you can afford because it's a long-term investment. Don’t forget about the jointer and planer debate—some folks say to get the planer first. Whichever route you choose, make sure to look for a helical head; it really makes a difference in cuts.
A table saw and jointer are really the backbone of any woodworking setup. Remember, having good tools is great, but they can actually be more frustrating than helpful if you’re not guided in how to use them. Take your time and always prioritize safety.
