What essentials should I include in my first aid kit as a beginner?

I'm just getting started and realized that last time, I ended up using a napkin and some electrical tape! I don't really have a proper first aid kit at the moment, so I'm looking for some good advice on what should be included to handle minor injuries or emergencies. What are the must-have items?

I focus a lot on prevention since I work alone. My kit includes regular band-aids, disinfectants, gauze, and medical tape. Remember, these things are essential for minor cuts to stop bleeding, and I also have a tourniquet and bleed stop powder nearby just in case. Better to be safe!

Micropore medical tape is surprisingly useful! It’s awesome for small cuts, just wrap and get back to work. Also, keeping a first aid kit stocked is key!

Definitely start with a pair of tweezers, since splinters are a common issue. You should also include big band-aids and some Neosporin. And don't forget a roll of athletic tape and paper towels for bigger messes. Being prepared is key!

Good point about the Neosporin! I’ll have to check if I’m allergic before I buy a bunch.

Besides the basics, consider adding a trauma pad and maybe superglue that’s rated for field dressings; it’s a quick fix and really handy. Make sure to keep your phone close by for emergencies too!
