What Flowers Can Thrive in a Shady Garden?

I'm really new to gardening and thought my shady garden would just stay bare. To my surprise, this year I noticed some white bells, bluebells, and primroses growing naturally without any planting! I'm curious if there are other flowers or plants that could happily grow in my shady space. Any suggestions?

Astilbes are a great choice for shady areas! They do really well in low light and are quite pretty. Plus, they add a nice pop of color depending on the variety you choose.

In my shaded garden, I’ve had success with ferns, yarrow, and spiderwort. Also, be cautious with some plants that might not be native to your region or could potentially be toxic. It’s important to consider soil type and drainage when selecting plants!

You should definitely consider adding hostas! They come in various sizes and colors, and they really love the shade. Other good options are heuchera, fuchsias, and hellebores. Columbine is also a favorite for shady spots, just be mindful of their growth conditions.
