What Fruits and Veggies Can I Grow in Pots on My Roof Terrace?

Hey everyone! I'm moving into a new flat that has a roof terrace, and I'm really excited about putting some plants up there. Since I can't plant directly in the ground, I need to rely on pots. I'm particularly interested in growing some fruits, but I'm also open to veggies. I know strawberries do well in pots and I'm thinking about trying blueberries, lemons, and raspberries too. If you have any recommendations for fruits and veggies that thrive in pots, I'd love to hear them! I'm open to experimenting with new plants as well.

Absolutely, spring onions and potatoes do well in pots! You might also want to try cut-and-come-again salad for fresh greens. Just keep in mind that for winter, you can swap those for winter salad greens like komatsuna. And don’t forget to provide some flower bulbs for pollinators to help out with fruiting!

I grew melons on my balcony last summer! With enough sunlight and warmth, they did really well. Just be ready to help them climb if they start getting out of control!

Lemons are nice, but they need protection from winter chill. Raspberries might be a bit of a challenge unless you get smaller bush varieties. You could also grow dwarf fruit trees like apples or cherries in pots if you want something a bit different. Figs also do well in containers! Just make sure to pick the right sizes.

You can definitely grow a variety of plants in pots! Blueberries and golden raspberries thrive in containers. Also, consider some small tomato varieties since they yield well in limited space. Chili peppers, cucumbers, and peas are great too, just make sure any vine plants have something to climb on!

Thanks for the tips! Are there any specific veggies you would suggest for pot gardening? Could I grow things like spring onions or potatoes too?
