I just moved into a new house and found something unusual in the return vent. It looks like a speaker, but I'm wondering if it's related to a doorbell or something else entirely. Has anyone seen anything like this? Check out this image to get a better idea: https://imgur.com/a/7dGPKjW.

In one of my previous homes, the alarm system’s klaxon was installed in the air vents. Believe me, the first time it went off, we nearly jumped out of our skin! It was super loud and echoed throughout the whole house.
That definitely looks like a speaker! Why it's located in that spot is a bit of a mystery, though. Could be part of an old intercom or security system.
Oh man, there's an old security system that might not be functional here. Let's hope that's all it is!
