What is this stuff on my front door?

I found something unusual on my front door, and I'm not sure what it is. I posted a picture here: https://imgur.com/a/oNGHlio. It looks like it could be mold, but I'm considering power washing it off. Does anyone know what it might be or how it got there?

That's pretty normal growth! I'd recommend using a siding cleaner solution. You could also try spraying it with 'Wet & Forget' to keep it from coming back.

Are you referring to that fuzzy dark squiggle in the picture? It looks more like old spider webs that have collected some dust and dirt rather than mold.

Mold is everywhere outdoors. It’s pretty common to see some sort of lichen, algae, or fungus, especially in shaded areas that stay damp unless you clean it regularly.

If it wipes off easily, it's probably just dirt. But if you need to use a bleach cleaner, then you've got mold. My front door faces east, so I mainly deal with dirt. The shady north side of my house gets a bit of green from mold if I don't power wash it regularly.
