What is this white plastic tube sticking out of my yard?

I found a white plastic tube, about 1 inch in diameter, sticking out of the mulch in my front yard. It doesn't wiggle much when I push it, and I'm hesitant to mess with it since I'm not sure what it is. Could this be a permanent marker for utility lines like gas, power, or water?

It’s likely not a cleanout, but it could be a marker for one. I’d suggest digging down a bit around it to see what's underneath. It might have been a support for a plant that got cut off. Just be careful when you dig!

Yeah, digging around can help you figure things out. It might've already been disturbed before, making it easier to access. Also, it could be a marker for power or data lines.

Honestly, it might just be some leftover debris from landscaping. Markers for utilities usually have color codes – yellow for gas, blue for water, and white for electrical lines. If you’re worried about it, consider hiring a private locating service to check if there are any utilities below it without breaking the bank.

You could also just call the local utility locator number to come check it out.

Have you checked if it's a boundary marker? Sometimes those tubes are used to indicate property lines, especially if you live in an area that maps out utility lines. You could contact a local dig alert service for more info too!
