What kind of lumber should I search for to find 2″ wide and 3/4″ thick boards for cabinet stiles?

I'm looking for lumber specifically for cabinet stiles that need to be 2 inches wide and 3/4 inches thick. I've only come across nominal lumber measurements that list 1.5 inches width. What type of lumber should I look for or inquire about to get those dimensions?

Yep, you'll just need to take some 1x3s and rip them to your desired width! It's pretty standard to work this way since premade stiles in such specific sizes aren't usually available.

For your cabinet stiles, you typically want hardwood that’s sold as 4/4 stock at lumberyards or hardwood dealers. When it's finished on both sides, it comes out to about 3/4 inches thick. It usually comes in various widths, so you'll need to rip it down to 2 inches yourself, or the mill can do that for a fee.

You can actually use pretty much any type of lumber for stiles and rails. They don’t sell them pre-made for that exact size. I’d suggest getting 1x3s and ripping them down to get your 2" width. Or grab larger 1x boards if you want to create multiple pieces.
