I'm starting a project to install baseboards and I'm curious about the best gauge nail gun to use. I've got some Dewalt XR power tools and a couple of Metabo drills in my setup, but I'm looking for recommendations on nail gun brands that are reliable and won't break the bank. What do you suggest?

For baseboards, many people suggest going with a 15 gauge nail gun since it’s pretty versatile and can handle most interior trim tasks quite well. An 18 gauge nail gun can work too, but it might be a bit underwhelming for some jobs, especially when it comes to exterior work. If you didn’t already have Dewalt, I’d recommend considering Ryobi, but since you have Dewalt and Metabo tools, those might be better choices for compatibility. Metabo is generally cheaper than Dewalt, so you can save some money there!
Honestly, I think brand name matters less than people think. While some folks love Dewalt or those top-tier brands, any nail gun can get the job done as long as it shoots nails reliably. Sure, 15 or 16 gauge are better suited for baseboards, but if you find a cheaper brand on sale that works, why not go for it? Focus on the actual project instead of stressing over the perfect brand!
The DEWALT 18 gauge brad nailer is actually a really good option if you're considering that brand.

Yeah, I was leaning towards Metabo too for the price savings. They seem solid!
