What Plants Thrive in Shady Areas with Chalky Soil?

I'm looking for plants that do really well in shady spots, especially those that can handle chalky soil. Bonus points if they're evergreen and bloom in summer!

Clematis is a fantastic option! Just keep in mind that mine is blooming way up high on a 30ft yew tree, so it's mostly just visible to passing aircraft!

Hydrangeas are killing it in my shady areas this year! We've also had some roses blooming almost nonstop since March. Oh, and don't forget about golden hop; it's spreading like crazy!

Wait, is golden hop actually shade tolerant? I always figured it needed full sun!
