Hey everyone! I'm looking to create some combination pots for next year and I'm curious about what ratios you usually use for your potting mediums. I'm considering a 50/50 mix of compost and topsoil, but I'm open to suggestions. What works best for you?

If possible, try adding some topsoil along with a bit of fish blood and bone! It gives your pots an extra nutrient kick, which can be really helpful for plant growth.
The right mix can really depend on your plants and location. For most plants, I usually go with a high compost ratio—especially seedlings that tend to love that rich nutrient boost. If you're unsure, a 50/50 compost and topsoil mix is pretty safe. Just remember that if you have clay soil, you might want to limit the compost a bit; it can hold too much moisture and get hard. Also, adding some sand or grit could really help!
I've found that a 70% compost and 30% gravel mix works great! The gravel helps with drainage and keeps the soil from becoming too compact. It really gives my plants room to thrive!

Thanks a lot for the info! That's super helpful!
