Hey everyone! I'm curious about what kind of safety gear you all use when working in your garages. I've been using some old chemistry goggles and a pair of basic safety glasses, but since I'm planning to do some woodworking, I want to get a better idea of what essentials I might need. So, what do you rely on for gear like eyewear, masks, and anything else?

I think about PPE a lot. I use safety glasses with foam padding for dust protection, especially when working with drywall. Also, wear gloves when it makes sense, but be cautious with any power tools. And don’t forget a dust mask when you’re sanding or cutting wood! Keep some basic first aid supplies nearby too.
Definitely don't skimp on hearing protection! I usually grab a pair of safety glasses from Harbor Freight since they have a solid selection. I also keep some nitrile gloves handy. They come in clutch for anything that involves messy cleanup or handling sharp objects.
So true! Too many people neglect hearing protection when using power tools. It’s super important.
If you're doing metalwork or welding, full coverage is a must. A filtered respirator is important too. I've learned the hard way about eye protection; trust me, if you’ve had metal pulled out of your eye, you’ll never forget your glasses again! Oh, and hearing protection is key—loss happens gradually until it’s really noticeable.
Yikes, that sounds painful! I’ve also started using a bottle of eyewash in the garage; it’s a lifesaver for when sawdust gets in the eye.

Great tips! I’m definitely going to get a dust mask—I didn’t think about that.
