We're in the process of renovating our first floor to create a more open layout, and the demo phase is almost done. We're currently down to the studs and I want to make sure we're not missing out on anything important to add before we put up insulation and drywall. I was thinking about installing in-wall speakers and setting up wiring for external security cameras, but what other considerations should I have?

Definitely think about running extra wiring for ethernet and electrical outlets. You’ll be surprised how many outlets you actually need, so add more than you think! Also, don’t forget about insulation—it's crucial! Just make sure you insulate around pipes or drains, too.
Consider putting in some conduit for communication lines, just in case you want to add more tech later. And maybe throw something fun behind the walls for the next homeowners to find—ghost stories in the making, right? Just something to keep it interesting!
More outlets are a must! Especially an outlet higher up for your TV, and make sure to install better positioned light switches. Insulation is key here as well—while you’re at it, block behind where your TV will go so you can screw into something solid. And if you have any external outlets for holiday lights, those are great additions too!
