What Should I Do About My Hydrangea’s Brown Petals?

I've been a bit neglectful with my garden this year since becoming a first-time parent, and now I'm seeing some brown petals on my beautiful hydrangea. I realize it's probably because I haven't watered it enough during this hot weather. Is there anything I can do to help it now? Should I cut it back, or just leave it looking a bit crispy for now? Any advice would be appreciated!

Don't worry too much! Hydrangeas are pretty hardy. Just focus on watering it well every 2 or 3 days if it’s dry out. And definitely leave those flower heads on—it’ll help your plant quite a bit!

It's best to leave the dead flowers on your hydrangea over winter. They help protect the plant from frost and actually look pretty nice too! Just make sure to keep it well-watered since they need a lot of moisture. Every couple of days should do the trick if there's no rain.

Thank you! I’ll definitely try to keep up with the watering better!

You're doing fine! Just remove any really dead stuff, and keep on watering. You could also give it some fertilizer to help it bounce back. You might be surprised at how quickly it can recover!

Awesome, thank you! You've restored my hope!
