Hey everyone! I just bought my first home about three months ago, and I'm already facing some challenges. Besides dealing with an ant issue, I've discovered that my frameless glass shower is leaking water. I suspect I need some silicone mold and mildew resistant caulk for the side, but I'm struggling to understand why there's a leak at the middle hinge where the sliding door meets the stationary glass. Water is pooling out of the metal hinge! I'm wondering if I need to add a dam or replace that plastic piece on the side. Any advice on how to fix this would be super helpful! I've got some pictures to share, but I'm not sure how to attach them here, so I'll attempt to do that in the comments. Thanks for your insights!

Looks like you're on the right track thinking about the silicone! It’s possible that the seals around the hinge are worn out or the installation wasn't perfect. Check for any gaps, and if you find any, reapply some silicone caulk there to prevent leaks. If the hinge itself looks damaged, you might need to replace it—those plastic parts can wear out over time. Also, consider getting a shower dam if the water is pooling too much.

Yeah, I had a similar issue! Replacing the silicone did the trick for me. Just make sure to clean the old stuff off completely before applying new sealant!
