Hey everyone! I planted some carrots on May 17th here in Atlantic Canada, but I'm starting to worry since only about 10% of them are coming up so far. A couple weeks ago, I dug down to check and found that a few were planted too deep—like 1.5 to 2 inches down! I used seed tape, which made it easy to see. Should I just wait a bit longer or is it time to replant? What do you all think?

Honestly, my carrot crop was a total bust this year too. I reseeded a couple of times and ended up with just a few carrots. So, don’t feel too bad! It happens. Best of luck with yours!
I haven’t really heard of this issue before, but it seems like replanting is a solid way to go if you’re not seeing results. Hope it works out for you!
Carrots are perfect for succession planting! I’d say go for it and sow some new seeds in the same spot or try a different area. Just remember, the deeper you go, the harder it might be for those tiny seeds to break through. I usually make a shallow trench and cover them with just a light layer of soil or compost to keep them moist and safe from birds. I keep seeding up until July for a healthy autumn harvest, so you definitely have time to replant!
