I recently bought a house with a garden in the 7a region of the UK, and after renovating the space, I have a 12x12 plot ready for planting. I'm unsure about what I can plant this September. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

You’re in for a treat! September is a great time to plant bulbs, and you can start thinking about getting bare root perennials ready from November to March—they’re often cheaper that way. If you're into fruits, consider planting raspberries, gooseberries, currants, and maybe even some Chilean guava. Don't forget about native flowers, but steer clear of invasive species like crocosmia and buddleia.
Congrats on the new home! If you're looking to harvest this year, think about quick-growing veggies like radishes, rocket, or lamb’s lettuce. For a winter harvest, try turnips, pak choi, or kale. You can even get a jump on spring with broad beans, peas, cabbages, onions, and garlic. September gives you plenty of options! Also, check out companion planting and consider crop rotations for next year. Enjoy gardening! ?

Can I sow cabbages, onions, and peas directly into the ground, or do they need to be started indoors?
