I'm finishing up my potato and tomato harvests, and I'm curious about what I can plant now in southern Scotland for a winter harvest or to overwinter. I've looked online but found all sorts of conflicting advice. I have a south-facing vegetable garden with two raised beds that I'd like to use effectively. Any suggestions?

You might want to consider planting garlic and broad beans this autumn. Baby leaf salads are also a great option. Just be sure to check if your broad beans require spring planting or if they can handle the winter. Garlic typically needs some chill, so it's worth trying again! I recently bought some from the supermarket and had good luck with it after a previous rotting issue.
I'm experimenting with cauliflower for spring planting! Last year, I had one overwinter and it turned out to be the best I've ever grown. You might find it worth a shot! Just keep an eye on those pesky caterpillars if you're thinking of brassicas.
Consider early season veggies like turnips, beetroot, and shorter-maturing carrots. Oriental greens like Chinese cabbage, Pak Choi, and various mustards would also be ideal for this time. Additionally, you can sow certain overwintering onions from seed. There are plenty of options, but these could be a good start!
