Hey everyone! I'm settling into my old 70s beach apartment and I've got this cabinet sitting above my kitchen bench. It's got glass doors, and I'm a bit stuck on what to put in there. I've tried using it for plants, but they didn't thrive without sunlight. Is it normal to just toss in mugs and cups? That feels kind of odd, especially since I don't want all my cookware on display. I haven't been able to find any inspiration images or ideas on what people used to keep in these cabinets back in the day. Any suggestions would be super helpful! I have a couple of similar cabinets from the 60s, and I just use them for glasses, mugs, dishes, and a few cute decorative pieces. Since they’re glass-fronted, it’s nice to keep it visually appealing. Might be a good spot for some glasses or fun kitchen decor!
How about plates and bowls on the bottom shelf and your glasses or mugs on top? If you don’t have a ton of each, just stick with your everyday dinnerware on the bottom and maybe some decorative pieces on top. Keep it tidy and stylish!
Honestly, I think dishes and decorative glassware would fit perfectly. It's more like a display rather than practical storage, so make it charming!

Haha! That's probably a better idea than my suggestion of storing meds and other... *private* items!
