What Should I Use for My Lawn Border: Gravel, Bark, or Chippings?

Hey everyone! I'm currently working on a lawn project where I've created a border to fill with something decorative. Initially, I thought about using white stones, but I've come across some posts saying that they can lead to algae growth, discoloration, and weed issues over time. I want to make sure my border requires minimal maintenance and still looks sleek and modern. I'm considering plants spaced about two meters apart but want to avoid turning this into a big hassle. Should I go with gravel, bark, or chippings? I heard 'pea gravel' might be a better choice. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I totally get wanting that clean look! If you're really concerned about maintenance, maybe bark is the way to go. It looks nice over the soil, and as it breaks down, it actually boosts the soil health. Plus, it’s cheaper and easy to refresh in a few years when it needs topping up.

That's good to know! I was thinking bark might be too much hassle, but if it's easy to maintain, I might give it a try.
