What Should I Use to Repair Eroded Edging on My Patio Pavers?

Hey everyone! I've noticed that some of the edging on my outdoor patio is starting to wear away, and I want to fix it before it causes any damage to the tiles or leads to sinking. What do people usually use for this? Is it concrete, a special mixture, or something else entirely? Also, do I need to remove the tiles to reapply, or can I leave them in place?

Yeah, you might be looking at a product like paver edging for support. Check out Home Depot's options; I saw a friend share a link about a 6-ft paver edging kit that could be useful. But if you're going for something to fill the gaps, sticking with that polymeric sand is usually the best route. Just make sure you follow those prep steps for a solid result!

Thanks for the tip! I’ll check out the Home Depot link and see if that edging could help.

It sounds like you're dealing with jointing material that often gets eroded due to rain and weather. Most folks use polymeric sand for this! It’s sand mixed with polymers that bond when wet, making it great for holding pavers in place. You can apply it without taking the tiles out, but I’d recommend cleaning out the old material first if it's damaged. Just use a pressure washer or a stiff broom to clear out the gaps without moving the pavers around. Then spread the polymeric sand over and sweep it into the cracks. After that, give it a light mist of water to activate it, but don’t soak it too much. It’s a bit of work but definitely worth it to keep everything in place! Good luck with your weekend project!
