What Size Nails Should I Use with My New 30 Degree Framing Nailer?

I just bought a 30 degree framing nailer and I'm a bit confused about which nails to purchase. I'm looking into getting 8 penny and 16 penny nails, but I heard this nail gun might not shoot 16 penny nails. Can anyone clarify this for me?

Great question! The 30 degree framing nailer typically uses nails that are 8 pennies and can handle various lengths, usually from 1.5" to 3.5". Just to clarify, not all 30 degree nailers shoot 16 penny nails, so it's good you asked. Always check the specific guidelines of your nailer for the best results. Good luck with your projects!

To add on, the 16 penny nails (which are usually 3.5 inches long) might not always fit in your nailer depending on the design. You might want to stick with what your manual suggests. If you still have doubts, swinging by a local hardware store might help—you can pick the brains of the staff there!
