I'm getting a fiddle leaf fig that comes in a 10" nursery pot. I'm wondering if I should stick with a 10" self-watering pot or move up to a 12" pot. Some sources suggest going up by an inch. What's the best approach here? Thanks in advance for your help!

I typically wait at least a year before repotting my plants. When I do repot, I just go up by one inch, moving my plant from the 10" to an 11" growers pot, and then placing that inside a larger decorative pot for airflow. It's simple and effective!
It really depends on the root growth. If the fiddle leaf fig still has some space in the 10" pot, you can definitely keep it there. But if it seems to be getting crowded, then moving up to a 12" pot is the way to go.
One option is to leave the fiddle leaf fig in its nursery pot and just place it inside a decorative pot. This makes it easier to inspect the plant when needed, and I've noticed that my plants thrive this way. If you prefer to transfer to a new pot, a 12" should work fine!
Thanks for the suggestion!
Oh wow! So just keeping it in the growers pot for a year is fine? That's really helpful!
