Hey everyone! I'm gearing up to build my first workbench and I'm a bit stuck on what diameter to make the holes for my future bench dogs and holdfasts. Since I live in the Netherlands, I've found that there are two common sizes: 19mm (which is about 3/4 inch) and 20mm. My table vise already uses 19mm holes, but I'm unsure if that's the standard in Europe. I've also seen a couple of EU artisans who create holdfasts specifically for 19mm. What do you all think is the best size to use? Thanks in advance!

Both sizes are popular! I think 19mm (or 3/4 inch) is more common in practice, but either will do fine. You'll find that they both perform well for dog holes. I'd personally recommend going with 19mm for consistency with accessories. Just make sure you find the gear that fits your choice!
Would you mind sharing the names of those artisans? I'm in the EU too and looking for good holdfast options.
Sure! I found one on Etsy: [this oak leaf holdfast](https://www.etsy.com/listing/1019665699/oak-leaf-holdfast-for-ph19mm-or-34-inch). I saw a few other options but can't seem to dig up the links right now, sorry! 😊
