I just got a Harvey compass router table and a Spinrite router, and I want to get comfortable using them by working on some small projects. I'm typically not super creative and usually follow plans, so I'm looking for recommendations on easy projects that I can do entirely on the router table. I'm considering using cope and stick bits to make a couple of cabinet doors and maybe using a miter-lock bit to create a small jewelry box or a display box for watches. Any other project ideas would be great!

Just a heads up, if you have a miter saw or circular saw, those would be great for making through cuts. Using a router for those isn't the safest route. But if you need to size things down, definitely use a hand saw and then clean up the edges with your router. Just make sure you set up jigs to keep things safe and precise!

Yeah, I like the idea of using a hand saw for sizing and finishing with the router. I’m a little intimidated by routers too, but it seems like if you prep properly and make jigs, it could work out!
