I'm gearing up to paint the interior of my house, which is about 2,000 sq feet, including the kitchen cabinets. My wife and I are planning to tackle this at our own pace, but I want to make sure I have everything we need upfront. I'm thinking about brushes—like what width and stiffness to go for—and rollers, too. Are there any recommended brands or materials? Also, do you think cheaper paint sprayers are a good investment? Would it be smart to get a telescoping roller or use a flat sander on a pole? I want to get decent equipment without breaking the bank, but I also don't want to be running back to the store multiple times. Any suggestions would really help!

When it comes to kitchen cabinets, I highly recommend using high-quality paint and rollers. For my own cabinets, I used Sherwin Williams Extreme Bond primer and then painted them with Benjamin Moore Regal Select. I've heard using Mohair rollers can give you a smooth finish. Don't skip a top coat either; it really makes a difference in terms of durability! You seem serious about getting it done right the first time, which is smart! If you're open to suggestions, ask away!
My wife and I took on a similar project a few years back, and it was quite the adventure! We ended up taking about six months, so prepare for a bit of a journey. We found that decent quality primer and ceiling paint from Home Depot (we used Behr) worked well for us, and we went with Sherwin Williams for the topcoats. For walls, we chose eggshell, and semi-gloss for the trim. We used 3/8” nap rollers and solid 2.5” brushes (around $15 each) for cutting in and trim work. Don't forget tarps and roller basins too! Also, consider getting a mop handle you can attach to a roller—makes painting ceilings and high walls way easier without having to constantly climb up and down a ladder.
I appreciate the tip on the mop handle! I hadn't thought of that, but it makes sense. I'm ready to get started, even if it's going to be a lot of work.

Thanks for the advice! I do plan on using that primer and Benjamin Moore paint. Should I really go for that top coat? I've heard mixed reviews.
