What to Do About Creaking and Cracking Noises in My House?

I live in a one-story house made of block construction with wood studs, and I'm constantly hearing creaking, cracking, and popping noises throughout the day. I've already checked the foundation and confirmed there are no significant issues with its elevation. I'm looking for advice on who I should contact to help me address this noise problem.

It's natural to wonder if there's a problem, especially if the noises are becoming more frequent. Sometimes it can just be the house settling or materials reacting to heat. You might want to check if there’s any damage to the trusses or studs since you mentioned that’s where the noises seem to be coming from.

I totally get your concern! I once lived in a house with aluminum siding, and the noises, especially each summer, were like a whole orchestra performing. Even without siding, your wood trusses and studs can make sounds due to temperature changes, so that’s something to keep in mind when trying to figure it out.

Have you noticed any large temperature swings in your area? I once lived in a place with big fluctuations, like 40-50 degrees from day to night, and it caused all sorts of annoying noises due to the building materials expanding and contracting. If temperatures stay pretty consistent where you are, that might not be your issue though.
