I just spotted a massive dark brown roach, around 2.5 inches long, in my room and I'm freaking out! I'm terrified of bugs and can't sleep at all. My home is clean, so I'm puzzled about why I'm seeing these roaches. After I killed the big one, I found a smaller one, about an inch long, and then another one around 3 cm in the corner. I'm really worried—do I have an infestation? Am I just overreacting? I'm considering getting an exterminator, but it's costly in my area. What should I do?

Sounds like you might have encountered some American Cockroaches, especially if they’re that size. They tend to thrive in damp environments. Do you live in a humid area? If so, it might be worth checking for any leaks or moisture issues. Just so you know, it's common to see them, and you might not need an exterminator unless they become a serious problem!
If you've just moved to a new area, especially the Southeastern US, you might be dealing with palmetto bugs rather than regular roaches. They’re pretty common and usually don't require professional help unless they're out of control. You can try sealing any cracks and keeping surfaces clean to discourage them!

I live in a house in the Northeast, and I've never seen such a big roach before. It's really caught me off guard!
