What To Do After Citristrip for Paint Removal?

Hi everyone! I'm diving into a home project where I'm trying to strip layers of oil-based paint from the doors in my place. The previous occupants layered on at least two coats of paint, plus some easy-peel 'landlord special' that didn't adhere well. I have confirmed that the paint is lead-free, and I have the go-ahead to make changes in my space.

So far, I've gone through three applications of Citristrip, and while it was quite the hassle, I'm stuck on how to remove the last bits of paint that are still clinging on. I'm searching for a method that allows me to wipe off the paint easily after some time. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!

P.S. I'm having trouble uploading photos, but I can share a link if needed!

I agree, heat guns can work wonders! Just remember to be careful not to scorch the wood. If the remaining layer is super stubborn, you could also consider a second round of Citristrip, letting it sit a bit longer for a deeper penetration. Hang in there!

Hey! Are you dealing with a full layer of paint or just some stubborn spots? If it's thicker areas, maybe try a heat gun; I've had great success with that compared to stripping agents. It really softens the paint up, making it easier to remove! Also, if you need to share images, use imgur.com to upload them—it’s super easy and doesn’t require an account!
