I just replaced a window in my bedroom and I'm trying to install some blinds inside. The problem is, whenever I drill holes for the mounting brackets at the top of the window frame, I'm hitting metal. I've successfully mounted similar blinds in other windows, so I'm puzzled. Even drilling from the outside of the frame leads me to the same metal. What are my options here? I don't own metal-penetrating drill bits. Any suggestions on how to proceed with the installation?

It sounds like you might be hitting a stud guard. These are installed to prevent you from drilling into electrical lines or plumbing, so they're actually pretty common in this scenario.
It’s likely a metal framing connector. Just get a new drill bit and you’ll be able to get through it without issue. It's not super thick, so it shouldn't take long to drill through.
Chances are, you're running into a metal corner bead that protects the edge of the window frame. If you look it up online, you’ll find images that show how it looks. You can drill through this material—it's designed to be penetrated!
