I accidentally shorted one of my LiFePO4 batteries using a wrench while I was loosening a terminal. I'm worried this battery might be completely gone. Is there a specific recycling place I should take it to, or will a general e-waste site do? I'm located in the SF Bay Area.
Also, I noticed that the battery has an integrated BMS. Is it possible that only the BMS is damaged and could be fixed or replaced?

If the battery was shorted only for a brief moment, there’s a good chance the cells themselves are still okay! The BMS could just need a reset, or you might even have a blown fuse somewhere in the system, either before or after the BMS. Definitely worth checking out!

Thanks for the advice! I’ll look into it and see if I can troubleshoot it.
