I just started a big, beautiful garden in Santa Cruz County, CA (zone 9b). It's pretty coastal and foggy during the summer, and I've got a few hours each week to maintain it. I'm excited to grow some flowers, herbs, and vegetables, but I'm not sure what to put in these garden beds. Any suggestions?

Hey there! It's great that you've got those 11 beds to work with! First off, be sure to consider the sunlight—south-facing plants will get more light. I like using taller beds for my dwarf tomatoes; they're way easier to harvest! You might want to tuck in some lettuce or chard as they can thrive with a bit of shading from taller plants. Think about growing what you already enjoy eating! If zucchini is your jam, plant one in a shallower bed. Have fun with it!
Mixing veggies with flowers sounds perfect! I’m sure it’ll look amazing!
Wow, your garden already looks amazing! I see you're mixing your veggies with flowers, which is a beautiful combo. You could also try adding some herbs in there; they not only taste great but can help with pest control! I just put in a few flower seeds today too, so here's hoping they grow well!
Thanks for the tips! I also want to add some lettuce and herbs soon.
Definitely herbs! They're super useful and can really enhance your cooking!
Love your suggestions! I just started throwing in some easy flowers too. Can't wait to see how they flourish!
