Hey everyone! I just bought my first house, and my father-in-law gifted me a power tool set that I'm super excited to use for DIY projects. However, I ran into some trouble making a shelf for our dog's cage and ended up wasting plywood. What tools would you recommend for making straight cuts? Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks!

You might want to invest in a track saw! They're fantastic for cutting plywood evenly and are easier to store than a table saw. True Trac offers a kit to make your own, but most power tool brands have a version too. Good luck with your projects!
Don’t forget about YouTube for tutorials! Channels like Izzy Swan, John Heisz, and DIY Creators have super helpful content for beginners. Just search for their names and you'll find tons of great videos!
You really can't go wrong with those suggestions! Plus, Matthias Wandel and Stumpy Nubs have some awesome tips too.

If you're looking for versatility, a circular saw paired with a clamping straight edge could be a great alternative. It gives you more flexibility for different situations.
