Hey everyone! I'm just getting started with woodworking and recently got my hands on an Evolution 255tbl+ table saw. I bought a new CMT blade since the stock one was pretty lousy. However, I'm having issues getting everything squared up. I think my squares might be off too because it feels like I'm going in circles trying to fix this. I just ordered an angle finder but could really use some advice on what tools are essential for setting up the saw correctly. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

It sounds like you might be having trouble with squaring your setup. If you already have a try square, that's a great start! Make sure you're not squaring to the throat plate, as that can cause errors. A dial indicator or a combination square would be helpful to check the distance to the T-slots and see if your table or trunnion needs shimming. Also, double-check the fence alignment, since it can also introduce errors if it’s not square to the table.
You might want to invest in a digital angle gauge. They can give you a clearer view of the angles and help with adjustments more accurately than a standard square. Plus, they’re super easy to read, which is a bonus for beginners!
Just a heads up, angle finders aren’t always as precise as a good try square. So, you might need to ensure your square is truly square first. Many times, your 'unsquare' squares might actually be more reliable than the angle finder itself!

Thanks for the tip! Should I be squaring the angle finder as well?
