What type of file should I use for sharpening auger bits and hatchets?

Hey everyone! I'm a woodworker looking for recommendations on a good metal file that can sharpen auger bits down to 1/4" and also help reset the bevel/sharpen my carpenter's hatchet. Is there a single tool that can do both?

I’d go for a triangular file that's super slim for your auger bits, and then just a basic flat fine file for the axe. This way, you’ll have the right tool for each job without compromising on the quality of the edge.

There are actually specific files designed for auger bits that have safe edges to prevent damaging the spurs. While it might seem like a good idea to get one file for both tasks, it's generally better to use a fine file for the auger bits and a different one for the large surface of the axe. It's all about precision!
