What type of plant do I have and how do I take care of it?

Hey everyone! I've had this plant for about 4 to 5 months now, and it was a gift from a coworker who didn't know what it was either. Can anyone help me identify it? Also, I'm a bit worried because it seems to be looking a little down. I just gave it a good watering since I hadn't done so in a while. What should I know about its care? When is the right time to repot it, and what kind of soil should I use? I'd really appreciate any tips you have! Thanks in advance! (I'll add a picture soon in the comments!)

Ditto on the picture! If it’s looking a bit sad, maybe give it some indirect sunlight and check the humidity, depending on the type of plant it is. Watering is key, but don’t let it sit in water—let it dry out between waterings. If you get some details on the leaves or the growth habit, that might help with the ID!

It's tough to identify without a picture, but if you notice your plant drooping, it could be underwatered or stressed. Most houseplants like well-draining soil and should be repotted every couple of years. Keep an eye on the roots, especially if you see them coming out of the drainage holes. Just make sure to use a soil mix suitable for houseplants. I'll be looking out for that pic!
