What Type of Pro Should I Call to Fix My Sagging Staircase?

I have an older home, and I've noticed that one side of my staircase is lower than the other. I'm not keen on tackling the repair myself, even though I have some knowledge about older houses. Can anyone advise on what type of professional I should hire for this kind of renovation?

It’s important to check if the issue is just with the staircase or if it's affecting the whole wall on that side. Sometimes these structural problems can be more extensive than they initially appear.

That’s true; I might need to have a deeper look at it if it turns out to be more than just the stairs.

You should definitely hire a carpenter. They specialize in this kind of work and can help restore the balance in your staircase.

What about a cabinet maker or a framer? Would they be good for this, too?
