What Types of Back Sockets Should I Use for My House Renovation?

I'm in the middle of a renovation project and planning to replace all my back sockets. I want to include USB and USB-C along with two UK plug sockets where I used to have one or two. Can anyone recommend what types of back sockets I should get that would work well with new plaster on either false walls or concrete?

It sounds like you're looking for standard electrical back boxes. These are designed to hold your sockets securely, and you can find options that fit USB and standard plug configurations. Just make sure to choose ones that are compatible with your wall type, whether it’s plasterboard or concrete. You might want to check the depth as well, especially if you're planning to install multiple sockets in the same area.

Good point about the depth! Make sure the boxes are deep enough to fit everything nicely without too much hassle.

When it comes to back boxes, the most common ones are usually made for single or double sockets. As for your USB and USB-C needs, there are multi-function units out there that combine standard and USB ports, which saves space and looks neat! Again, just check the specifications for installation in either false walls or solid walls before buying.

Also, don't forget to consider getting boxes with knockouts for smoother cable management. Makes the whole project look tidier!
