What Unlikely Plant Combinations Would Look Amazing in a Magical Garden?

Hey everyone! I'm currently writing a fantasy book, and I'm working on a scene that describes a magical garden filled with a mix of diverse plants that wouldn't normally coexist. I'm looking for your creative suggestions! What combinations of plants do you think would look stunning together but could never realistically thrive in the same environment?

This sounds like such a unique concept! I would suggest pairing Japanese cherry blossoms with giant saguaro cacti, and maybe adding some bioluminescent mushrooms poking out from underneath. It would create a whimsical vibe that's totally enchanting!

Omg I didn’t even think of mushrooms! Thank you!!

How about mixing giant redwoods from coastal California with Protea from South Africa? Throw in some Himalayan poppies, just to make it even more fantastical. I love these plants even if I can't grow them in my area!

Those are gorgeous! The story is set in North Carolina, so those would be pretty bizarre to see there too!
