What Vaulted Ceiling Style Should I Choose for My Home Renovation?

I'm in the middle of renovating my house and I'm planning to vault the ceilings in two of my bedrooms that currently just have attic space above. My general contractor suggested a few different styles for the vaulted ceilings, and I would love some opinions on which one to choose. Here's what we're considering:

1. Cathedral style (traditional vaulted)
2. Partial vaulted with a flat area
3. Coffin style where part is vaulted and part is flat
4. Full vault with no breaks

What do you all think looks the best? What are the pros and cons of each style?

Just a heads up, I have high vaulted ceilings in my house and it's really tough to keep the rooms warm since there are no return air vents up there. On the flip side, during summer, those high ceilings really let all that solar heat in, making it super hot. Just something to consider if energy efficiency is your goal!

I’m a fan of option 2 when I want a cozy vibe, but I think option 4 works great in a more social or communal space. It really depends on how you plan to use the rooms!
