What Weedkiller Actually Works for Bindweed?

Hey everyone, I've been struggling with bindweed in my garden. I used to use a great root kill weedkiller, but I can't find that product anymore. Most of what I'm seeing doesn't have glyphosate or claims to dissolve in the ground, which has me confused. I've already tried Roundup Tree Stump Killer and Roundup Total with no success, as well as Weedol Fast Acting. If anyone has good recommendations for an effective weedkiller that won't break the bank, I'd really appreciate your help! Thanks!

If your bindweed is located in an accessible spot, you can try digging out the roots when the soil is soft. Look for those long, white roots and put them somewhere sunny to dry out. If it's coming from a hard-to-reach area, you might just need to keep pulling it out regularly to weaken its hold.

Any weedkiller that contains glyphosate should do the trick, but you might need 2-3 applications since bindweed can be pretty stubborn. Just a heads-up: when you mentioned stuff that 'dissolves in the ground', that's actually normal for glyphosate as it breaks down in the soil naturally within a few weeks. Here’s a link to one: https://www.wickes.co.uk/Roundup-Fast-Action-Weed-Killer---1L/p/132365?gQT=1. Stick with it and keep trying!

That’s great to know! I have that one already, so I’ll keep it in rotation.

You might want to check out Gallup Home and Garden 360. It's a glyphosate product that’s effective even on tough weeds like Japanese knotweed. It costs around £18 a liter on Amazon and you need to mix it with water depending on what you’re targeting. Just make sure not to over-concentrate it, or it’ll kill the stems before it can affect the roots.
