What Wildlife Should I Expect in an Overgrown Garden?

I'm feeling a bit nervous about what might be lurking in an overgrown garden, especially with concerns about creepy crawlies making their way inside my house. A colleague mentioned that his unkempt garden is now home to quite a few frogs, which was surprising since he doesn't have any water features. I'd love to know what other creatures, particularly in a city environment, could be hiding out in an overgrown garden. Am I just being paranoid, or is there a legitimate downside to letting my garden grow wild?

You'll likely encounter a whole bunch of insects, which is actually awesome! We've left part of our garden wild, and it's teeming with bugs. This attracts birds too—like sparrow hawks that take advantage of the bird buffet. It's like a mini-ecosystem! While it might sound a bit daunting, most of these critters play important roles in the garden’s health.

Sure, but let’s not forget about the potential for larger plants growing too close to the house. Left unchecked, they could really cause issues!
